No, it's not an Olympic ski hill.
There has been so much snow in the City of Barrie since the beginning of Nov. that the snow pile at the Operations Centre is full.
Starting Thursday night, the city says snow from snow lift operations will now be dumped at the landfill on Ferndale Drive North.
As a result, residents near Benson Drive may hear some noise during these overnight activities, the city said in a social media post.
"Staff will make efforts to reduce noise during this work," the city added.
From Nov. 1, 2025, to Jan. 28, 2006, Barrie has received 300 cm of snow, which is just over 9.5 feet.
