Ontario Provincial Police said it was a "costly " coffee run for an Orillia teen.

Around 8 a.m. on Sunday, an Orillia OPP officer was conducting traffic enforcement on northbound Highway 11 in Severn Township when a vehicle was recorded travelling 144 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.

A 17-year-old was charged with stunt driving and speeding.

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the person's driver's licence was suspended for 30 days.

The teen will appear in court at a later date.
