Josh Faria calls it "The Tiny Giant."

A 33-foot snowman that adorns his front lawn at 8 Deanlea Blvd. in Tiny Township.

Josh and his 78-year-old dad, Tony (Antonio) Faria, began the build over the Christmas holiday, working long hours until completion just a few days ago.

The family has used the snowman to give back to the community by collecting donations for the Elmvale and District Food Bank.

"I know times are tough for a lot of people," Josh told Barrie 360. "A lot of people have been coming out and donating to a good cause."

Josh says the community has really come together to support the effort, and he gets to see his neighbours, and the kids wave at the snowman when the school bus goes by.

The build was done using an extension ladder, rope and buckets.

The giant snowman was obviously hard for some to believe their eyes.

"A lot of them think it's fake or it has hay bales in it, or I used machines to build it," Josh explained to Barrie 360.

He said stepping on the snow and compressing it was a lengthy endeavour.

This isn't the first time the family has challenged themselves with a snowy creation. During the pandemic in 2021, they built a 20-foot snowman.

Mother Nature will decide how long a life this latest creation has.

Anyone who wishes to donate to the cause can visit the property, and there is a bucket to place donations and perishable food items.
