A New Head Honcho At Orillia Fire

Brent Thomas Appointed as Fire Chief

A man with decades of experience as a first responder has been given the reigns of the Orillia Fire Department.

Brent Thomas has been appointed as Fire Chief, effective this week. Thomas is no stranger to the department, having been with the team as Assistant Fire Chief since 2014, Acting Fire Chief since former Chief Ralph Dominelli’s retirement in April.

“It is an absolute pleasure to serve the Orillia Fire Department and the people of Orillia.” says Chief Thomas, “When my family first moved to Orillia five years ago we fell in love with the city and have established deep roots in the community. I am honored to be appointed as Fire Chief of the Orillia Fire Department and I look forward to continuing to lead our amazing team.”

Thomas has 30 years of experience as a firefighter, with an overlapping ten as a paramedic.
