One person was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries in which Ontario Provincial Police say was the result of a dispute between two people around 1:30 Friday morning on Albert Street North in Orillia.
Since then, police say the victim's condition has stabilized.
The suspect was located, and OPP say the person was allegedly driving impaired. During the investigation, there was a minor collision between the vehicle of the accused and a police cruiser.
A 43-year-Orillia man ha been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Dangerous operation
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Resist Peace Officer
- Flight from peace officer
- Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent
The suspect was held for a bail hearing.
Police say the name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
