Umm, yay?

The new technology analyses video footage of you eating and calculates the nutritional value of your diet.

It studies every spoonful on its way to your mouth and calculates the volume of food you're eating with just a 4.4% margin for error.

It's still a work in progress, and there are many things to work out, but eventually, it will recognize a wide range of foods, even those it hasn't seen before.

It can calculate the nutritional content even when you combine foods.

It sounds cool, but do you really need it to give you the virtual stink eye when you sneak a second helping of cake?
