'Airborne' crash on Anne Street North: Barrie Police

Barrie Police say charges are pending against a 25-year-old Etobicoke man after a single-vehicle crash on Anne Street North near Shirley Avenue.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m. Sunday but police were alerted about three hours later.

Police spokespeson Peter Leon said the northbound vehicle hit the curb, blew a tire and then crossed a boulevard and sidewalk before becoming airborne, finally coming to a stop in a ravine.

The driver was not hurt, though a passenger sustained minor injuries.

"The car was destroyed," Leon added.
