The Today Show's Al Roker got a sweet surprise from his co-workers the other day.
When the long-time weatherman opened his door, he was greeted by several staffers on the doorstep, serenading him with Christmas carols.
They burst into a rendition of "Jingle Bells," to which Roker joked, I'm surprised you could do that without a teleprompter."
The gesture visibly moved him as he hasn't been to work since suffering health setbacks.
He was recently hospitalized for blood clot complications in his leg and lungs. He was in the hospital around American Thanksgiving and returned home on December 9.
During a recent appearance on the show, he said he would need more time to recover before returning to work.
He explained, "You lose a certain amount of muscle mass every week you're in the hospital, and I was in the hospital for four weeks. So it's just a certain amount of weakness; I've got to just get my strength back."
