Police say a woman was clocked at 42km over the limit in the school zone, while possibly driving under the influence.
An officer from Orillia OPP detachment had the radar gun out along County Road 169 near Rama Central School around 9:00 this morning, when it’s said a vehicle approached at a high rate of speed. The radar gun read 102km/h in a 60 zone, so the vehicle was stopped. On approaching the vehicle, police say they could smell alcohol. The driver refused to participate in a breath test.
A 43-year-old Oakville woman has been charged with Speeding in a Community Safety Zone and Refusing to Submit to Breath Demand. She has an early October court date.
