Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial has been set for July 9th.
A judge in Santa Fe, New Mexico, has ordered jury selection to begin that day, with opening statements set for July 10th.
The trial is expected to last eight days. Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted. In 2021, Baldwin was pointing a gun at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a rehearsal for the movie “Rust” when the gun went off, killing her and injuring director Joel Souza.
An involuntary manslaughter trial is currently going on for the movie’s weapons supervisor, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, which could impact Baldwin.
