A timeline of updates from the Eastview Secondary School hold and secure, and lockdown on the morning of Tuesday, May 24.
UPDATE: 11:30 a.m., the lockdown at Eastview SS has been lifted. Students and staff are safe. Further information will be sent directly to families.
UPDATE: Barrie Police tell Barrie 360 they were in the process of lifting the hold and secure, when at the same time unrelated to the initial call, another call came in that spokesperson Peter Leon said required a significant police response.
"Based on the information that we had, we were very quickly able to determine that it was inaccurate. We have swept the school and there is nothing to suggest there is an issue of concern with respect to that second call." The lockdown remains in place.
UPDATE: 11 a.m. Eastview Secondary School has been placed in lockdown.
Update: Around mid-morning, Barrie Police placed Eastview SS in a hold and secure. Updates will be provided as they become available. During a hold and secure, activities continue inside the building, but all exterior doors are locked and no one is allowed to enter or exit the building.
