In a sign things seem to be improving around Barrie, a pair of recreation centres are primed to reopen.
Barrie City Hall says, after the Simcoe-Muskoka region entered into Stage 3 of recovery, rec centres are allowed to reopen. The City is reviewing capacity limits and other recreation-related restrictions for most of its facilities but will open up two on August 4.
Both the Allandale Recreation Centre and Holly Community Centre are scheduled to reopen for public use then. The indoor pool and fitness facilities will be the only services available for the time being. Residents and non-residents will have to reserve time to use the facilities and follow all health guidelines while there.
Those wishing to can reserve time through the city’s recreation website, starting July 28.
The East Bayfield Community Centre is scheduled to reopen after September 8 while the Five Points Theatre and Georgian Theatre are expected to remain closed until next year.
