Four people have been charged after an alleged carjacking in Angus on Jan. 30.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers witnessed a drug deal between the accused and the victim.

Police allege the suspects forcefully attempted to remove the victim from their vehicle but were unsuccessful.

The victim fled in their vehicle, and according to police, was pursued by the suspects at high rates of speed weaving in and out of traffic.

Police intervened and took three people into custody.

A fourth person was arrested on Monday and held for a bail hearing.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old from Cookstown, a 28-year-old from Innisfil, and a 28-year-old from Vaughan, were charged with robbery. The suspect from Innisfil was also charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and two counts of driving while under suspension. A 62-year-old from Barrie was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and drug trafficking.
