Alleged drunk driver blows three times over the legal limit: Orillia OPP

OPP upgrade charges after driver dies of injuries in Highway 12 crash near Gambridge

Ontario Provincial Police arrested a driver in Oro-Medonte who they say blew three times the legal limit of alcohol.

Around 3 a.m. on Thursday, Orillia OPP, Rama First Nations Police Service and paramedics responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Line 6 North.

Police say they located a vehicle upside down in the ditch.

The motorist was not injured.

A 33-year-old man from Coldwater has been charged with:

  • Adult fail to report accident
  • Adult fail to remain
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol 80 plus

His vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

The accused has a court date next month.
