Alliston hospital issues fraud alert

Hospital officials say a person is approaching local businesses soliciting for ad space

News release - from Stevenson Memorial Hospital

Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is reporting fraudulent activity taking place within our community related to advertising in a ‘Hospital Activity Guide’.

An individual is approaching local businesses, soliciting for advertising space in what they claim to be a ‘Hospital Activity Guide’ that will be distributed to local hospitals, including SMH.

The hospital has no affiliation with any such publication.

We urge all businesses and individuals to exercise caution and remain vigilant when
approached for such requests. SMH takes this matter very seriously and are actively working
with local law enforcement to investigate the situation.

If you feel you are victim of fraudulent activity related to this case, please call the Canadian
Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
