Alliston man accused of spitting on officers during drunk driving arrest in Bradford

Police say motorist was also suspended from driving

A young Alliston man is in hot water with the law after a crash in Bradford.

South Simcoe Police officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Sideroad 10 and Line 11 at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle subsequently went into a ditch and rolled onto its roof.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, was arrested on scene over allegations of impaired driving. As police tried to put the suspect in custody, they say he resisted arrest and spat on them.

The suspect faces charges of aggravated assault, assaulting a police officer, uttering threats, driving under suspension, driving while impaired, and being a novice driver with booze in his system.
