Amber Heard's bill to Johnny Depp has been drastically reduced.
The actress has been ordered to pay Depp $ 1 million, signaling the end of their long legal battles.
The money will come from her insurance carrier, and Depp's lawyers say the money will be given to charity.
Heard was originally ordered to pay Depp $15 million after she lost the lengthy six-week defamation lawsuit this summer.
In a post on social media, Heard said the decision to settle was not her first choice. Her statement is below.
Depps' lawyers have issued a statement saying:
"We are pleased to formally close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who made clear throughout this process that his priority was about bringing the truth to light. The jury's unanimous decision and the resulting judgement in Mr. Depp's favour against Ms. Heard remain fully in place. The payment of $1 (million) — which Mr. Depp is pledging and will donate to charities — reinforces Ms. Heard's acknowledgement of the conclusion of the legal system's rigorous pursuit for justice."
