Annual Walk for Alzheimer’s only about $4,000 away from $100k

Donations still being accepted

This year’s local Walk for Alzheimer’s was a big success, but there’s still a bit more work to be done.

The socially distanced event raised $95,065 this year. With just about $4,000 left to go to get to $100k, donations are still rolling in. Anyone wishing to make a donation and help them get to $100,000 can do so online. All funds raised stay in the local community to support those in Simcoe County.

This year’s theme was Walk 10,006 Steps for 10,006 people living with dementia in Simcoe County. Since the walk started, that number has grown, with more people diagnosed with dementia every day.

The organizers of this year’s walk say the event set a new record: 314 participants, 48 teams, and a record number of corporate and media sponsors.
