Another five COVID-19 cases confirmed by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, including two from Barrie

Three more recoveries reported in our region

Two women from Barrie are among the five new cases of COVID-19 added Friday to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s (SMDHU) caseload.

The women, in their 20s and 50s, join a 50-something man from Bradford-West Gwillimbury, an Essa Township woman in her 20s, and a man in his 60s from Penetanguishene in being added to Simcoe County’s case count. The SMHDHU reports 486 cases to date, 410 (84%) of which are recoveries – an increase of three since Thursday’s update.

The addition of five people today means the region has gained 20 cases this week. However, there have been no lives lost in Simcoe County or the District of Muskoka since May 20.
