According to Ontario Provincial Police, three suspects with weapons forcefully entered the home where a number of residents were inside, and one of them was assaulted. The victim was treated on scene by County of Simcoe paramedics.

The suspects are described as males, dark-skinned and wearing dark clothing, hoods, masks and gloves.
"The suspects fled in a dark coloured, 4-door hatchback traveling southbound on St. Vincent Street. It is suspected that the suspect vehicle is related to a failure to stop by Barrie police following the incident," according to the news release.
