Ashton Kutcher says he lost his eyesight and hearing a few years ago due to a rare auto-immune disorder, Vasculitis.

The actor opened up about the experience in a recent episode of National Geographic's "Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge."

Access Hollywood had a sneak peek of the latest episode that features Kutcher undergoing several wilderness challenges.

"I had a weird, super-rare form of Vasculitis that knocked out my vision, knocked out my hearing, and knocked out all my equilibrium. It took me like a year to build it all backup." he explained.

Vasculitis is a group of auto-immune diseases that cause inflammation of the blood vessels.

Some forms affect blood vessels that go to or supply specific organs like your skin, eyes, or brain.

During the episode Ashton told Bear:

"The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you, to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun, right? You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.
