Nottawasaga OPP charged a man in connection to an attempted child abduction Thursday in New Tecumseth.

A group of children was approached by a man around 3:00 p.m. while they were operating a lemonade stand on 9th Line in Beeton.

The accused allegedly made inappropriate comments and invitations toward the group.

The incident was reported to police and officers identified the suspect, a 61-year-old man from New Tecumseth.

He was charged on three counts of taking or enticing a person under 14 years of age.

Still in custody, the man is set to appear for a bail hearing in Barrie Wednesday.
