Charges including attempted murder laid against 5 men after injured man found in abandoned building in Orillia

Five men from the Greater Toronto Area have been charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and other offences in connection with an incident in Orillia.

OPP say that shortly after 9 p.m. on September 27, police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle and individuals wearing masks near an abandoned building on Colborne Street East.

Inside the building, police found an adult male suffering from serious injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital.

The suspects range in age from 30 to 62, and are from Toronto, Brampton and Woodbridge.

The accused are also charged with firearm offences, forcible confinement, break and entering a place to commit an indictable offence, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

All five remain in custody and had a court date on Tuesday.
