Southern Georgian Bay OPP say an autopsy has confirmed a Tay Township man died this week of a gunshot wound.

OPP investigating a suspicious death in Tay Township

Police were called late Monday night to a home on Old Fort Road, where they found the deceased, Jonus Keegan Palmer, 24, outside the residence.

It is believed to be an isolated incident.

Investigators made an arrest at the scene, but it was unrelated to the homicide. No further details on that arrest can be released at this time.

The investigation by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is ongoing.
