In the blazing heat this week, Huronia West OPP officers came to the aid of an eight-month-old baby that was accidentally locked in a vehicle in the driveway of home in Wasaga Beach.

Police were alerted about the incident by one of the parents who said they were unable to unlock the vehicle.

In an email to Barrie 360 on Friday, police said the officers were able to unlock the door without damaging the vehicle, and they were able to safely remove the baby, who had been in the car for about 20 minutes.

Paramedics gave the little one a check-over and determined the baby did not require hospital treatment.
