Back-to-back higher numbers released from Public Health Ontario following long weekend

Over 230 recoveries and no deaths were reported in the last 24 hours

Public Health Ontario released two sets of numbers on Tuesday morning to make up for a lack of report on the holiday Monday. Both are higher than we’d like.

On Monday, there were 190 cases of COVID-19 confirmed by lab tests. On Tuesday, there were 185. This continues an upward trend in caseload additions noted in the past weeks, and among the highest numbers reported since late July.

On both Monday and Tuesday, health officials reported 119 recoveries and no new deaths.

Health Minister Christine Elliott claims 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, and 18 of them are reporting no cases whatsoever. However, Toronto Public Health reported 48 cases alone on Tuesday, with 42 in Peel Region, and 37 in Ottawa.
