Barbra Streisand's long-awaited memoir is on the way.
"My Name Is Barbra" will be out November 7, 2023, something her die-hard fans have been waiting for.
According to Viking, a Penguin Random House imprint, the book will give us a glimpse of everything from her childhood to international stardom.
"The book is, like Barbra herself, frank, funny, opinionated and charming. She recounts her early struggles to become an actress, eventually turning to singing to earn a living; the recording of some of her acclaimed albums; the years of effort involved in making Yentl; her direction of The Prince of Tides; her friendships with figures ranging from Marlon Brando to Madeleine Albright; her political advocacy; and the fulfillment she's found in her marriage to James Brolin."
The memoir has been teased for years. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, she explained it was always on the back burner.
"In 1999, I started writing, and then other things, concerts and movies or whatever, (happened) and then in 2008, I really started writing."
She added that the pandemic allowed her to finish it finally. The book clocks in at just over 1,000 pages.
It's already available for pre-order.
