A Barrie man is celebrating a life-changing lottery win after matching six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order to claim a $100,000 prize.
Jonathan L., a Barrie business owner, won the prize in the Sept. 5, 2026 ONTARIO 49 draw after matching the last six of seven ENCORE numbers. The win marks his first major lottery prize after playing OLG games since 2015.
Jonathan discovered his winning ticket while at a local store and said the excitement was immediate.
“I was so happy that I started dancing in the store! I called my girlfriend and friend to share the news, and they were so happy for me.”
He has already made plans for the windfall. He intends to purchase a new vehicle for work and take trips to both the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
The winning ticket was purchased at Barrie Convenience on Anne Street in Barrie.
