Nominations open for Barrie Arts Awards

Nominations for the 2023 Barrie Arts Awards are open until September 4.

The awards honour individuals and organizations for their contributions to the arts sector. Winners will be celebrated at the annual gala in November.

Nominations are open for the following categories:

  • Most Promising Youth
  • Artist Beyond Barriers
  • Excellence in the Arts
  • Emerging Artist
  • Contribution to the Community
  • Business Champion

New this year, third-party nominators are only required to provide basic information for nominations. Once the nomination period has closed, nominees will be contacted to provide additional information pertaining to the category in which they are nominated.

For all Barrie Arts Awards categories, nominees must work, live, attend school, exhibit or perform within Barrie. A nominee may be nominated for only one award per year. Past winners may not be nominated for the same award they won in a previous year but may be nominated for a different category.
