The Barrie Baycats are excited to announce a brand new deal with Athletic Kulture who will be the new stadium name and sponsor of the Baycats stadium at the Barrie Community Sports Complex. Athletic Kulture Stadium will be the new name of the home of the Baycats for the next three seasons.
"We’re thrilled to partner with [the] Barrie Baycats and become the official home of the defending IBL champions,” said Athletic Kulture operating partner Todd Sloane. “Athletic Kulture Stadium is about supporting our local athletes both on and off the field. This collaboration is all about bringing the community together, fostering teamwork, and creating memorable experiences for fans and players alike.”
Athletic Kulture is Barrie’s newest and best gym, located at 154 Reid Drive in Barrie and is open 24 hours a day, featuring the highest quality of equipment for all needs. Whether you are just starting out on your fitness journey or are a seasoned athlete, Athletic Kulture has the resources and facility for you.
Baycats president Josh Matlow stopped by Athletic Kulture’s 22,000 square foot facility on Friday to make the deal official. The partnership takes effect for the 2025, 2026, and 2027 seasons.
“From my day one, when I took over in 2020, Athletic Kulture was there to support the Baycats,” said Matlow. “Five years later, they are taking their dedication and support to another level.”
“We are ecstatic to align our organization at the highest level with a brand that is locally owned and operated and that ultimately aligns with our morals and community goals. I want to thank everyone from the AK (Athletic Kulture) team for their unwavering support over the years and we look forward to what the future has in store!”

While this will mark the end of Vintage Throne as the official stadium name of the Baycats, it will not be the end of their partnership with the team. Vintage Throne Barber Lounge is still a highly valued supporter of the Barrie Baycats.
“I want to thank our good friends at Vintage Throne for their most recent support of the stadium title sponsorship and their ongoing support of the organization over the years,” Matlow said. “We are also grateful that they are properly passing the torch with full support to another local business within our community!”
The Baycats will make Athletic Kulture Stadium a reality in the coming weeks with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the ballpark.
On top of their stadium partnership, Athletic Kulture will also present this year's home opener on May 15th as Athletic Kulture Opening Night. This will include a giveaway for a brand new Athletic Kulture x Barrie Baycats T-shirt that fans will not want to miss. More details are coming soon.
Athletic Kulture Opening Night is on May 15th at 7:35 pm when the Baycats face the Toronto Maple Leafs. Get your tickets here.
