Barrie police investigating overnight break-and-enter

An overnight break-and-enter at a restaurant in an Anne Street South business mall is being investigated, Barrie police say.

"Police have learned that the entry occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. last night and 7:00 a.m. this morning," officials with the Barrie Police Service stated on Wednesday.

They say the front glass door was smashed.

"Once inside, a cash register and the currency inside of it was stolen," police said. "Also stolen were three, one-litre bottles of alcohol (make and brand not known)."

Police added that there are no known suspects, and the stolen cash register has not been recovered.
