Barrie Police have charged a 20-year-old male resident with child pornography offences.
"As a result of the lengthy investigation, detectives have learned that the accused accessed several social media sites that included Reddit, Telegram and Snapchat to obtain and distribute images/videos of child pornography," police said in a news release on Friday.
The suspect, who was charged with accessing child pornography, possession of child pornography, and distribution of child pornography, was held for a bail hearing that took place on Thursday and he was later released.
The accused is to appear in court next month.
