Barrie Colts acquire players for picks

Braden Haché and Ethan Quick get added to the Colts' roster

The Barrie Colts have boosted their roster by acquiring a defenseman and a forward in exchange for draft picks.

Barrie received Braden Haché from the Kingston Frontenancs and Ethan Quick from the Ottawa 67’s.

Haché, standing 6’3″ and weighing 210 lbs, has played 120 games for the Frontenancs and notched 19 career points and 126 penalty minutes.

In a release on the Colts’ website, head coach Marty Williamson explained his thoughts regarding the defenseman from Newmarket.

“Braden has developed into one of the top shutdown defenseman in the league. He’s a hard player to play against and we feel he fits well into our team for the rest of the season and into playoffs. We’re looking forward to start working with Braden.”

As for Quick, he’s played 22 games this season for the 67’s – tallying a goal and two assists.

Per the Colts’ website, Williamson says his scouting staff had an eye on the forward back during his U16 year.

“He’s a strong kid already and we’re looking forward to helping him continue to develop here in Barrie.”

Quick was picked up by Ottawa in the 4th round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
