Barrie Colts and OHL pause season amid COVID-19 pandemic
The decision follows those of the NHL and NBA to postpone the regular season
The Barrie Colts announced that their season will be put on pause along with the rest of the OHL and CHL.
This decision was made by the CHL Thursday, in response to growing concerns surrounding COVID-19. It follows both the NBA and NHL’s decision to halt the regular season during the pandemic.
“This is an extremely unusual situation and one that our team, our league, and many other leagues, have never been faced with before. Obviously, our focus is on protecting the health of our players, our staff and our fans. This is a very difficult time and this is a very complicated situation that none of us have dealt with before. There are many questions being asked and we are in the process of figuring all of this out”, stated Howie Campbell, President of the Barrie Colts. “We ask for patience and we will be answering questions as fast as we have the answers.”
