Barrie Community Foundation awards grants to ten local charities

$127 thousand being divided among local organizations

Ten charities in Barrie have been awarded a grant courtesy of the Barrie Community Foundation from the Emergency Community Support Fund.

A total of $127 thousand is being divided among Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, Grove Park Home, Elizabeth Fry Society, Redwood Park Communities, Rainbows for All Children, Talk Is Free Theatre, Rotary Club of Barrie, Starlight Children’s FDN, Theatre By The Bay, and Candlelighter’s Simcoe.

The charities will use funding for various tasks including shelter, remotely delivering mental health support to children under the age of 14, provide emergency care packages for families with children in cancer care, purchase of temperature sensor cameras for long-term care entry doors, and more.

Eligible organizations can still apply for grants of up to $20,000 from the Emergency Community Support Fund.
