Barrie police have charged a driver after she allegedly registered three times over the legal alcohol limit.
Police say they received information shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday about a vehicle being driven erratically on Livingstone Street East. Before the police arrived, they were alerted that the vehicle had struck another car from behind east of Bayfield Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they say a woman was out of her car, stumbling and showing obvious signs of impairment. The 31-year-old from Barrie was arrested for impaired driving.
The woman was administered a breathalyzer at police headquarters, where she is alleged to have registered more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
She was charged with impaired driving and handed a court date for later this month.
The woman's vehicle was impounded for seven days, and her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days.
