Barrie driver facing impaired driving, weapons charges after minor crash in Oro-Medonte

Vehicle occupants required medical attention

A Barrie motorist is facing a few charges after a vehicle was ditched in Oro-Medonte.

The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. on August 27, police say a vehicle left Eight Mile Point Road and struck some trees. There were several people in the vehicle at the time and all were taken to local hospital by Simcoe County Paramedics.

Police later determined the driver, a 25-year-old from Barrie, was behind the wheel while impaired. A charge each of driving under suspension and possession of a dangerous weapon were also laid.
