Barrie driver faces impaired charges after crashing into police cruiser

Police say the cruiser was parked to assist as the city conducted work on the road
Impaired driver crashes into Barrie Police cruiser

A 38-year-old Barrie woman faces impaired driving charges after crashing into a police cruiser on Wednesday morning.

Peter Leon, communications coordinator for the Barrie Police Service, told Barrie 360 the incident happened around 10:30 on Ferndale Drive just north of Ardagh Road.

Leon says the cruiser was stationary at the time and was there to assist a City of Barrie vehicle while work was being done on the road.

Leon says there were no reported injuries.

She was arrested and charged with impaired operation, impaired operation over 80 milligrams, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
