Barrie police say an Innisfil driver has been charged in connection to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle last fall.

Police had responded to a report of the collision on Mapleview Drive West, east of Veterans Drive, on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

"Investigators determined that a motorcycle was travelling eastbound on Mapleview Drive West when it came in contact with a passenger vehicle that was turning left to go westbound on Mapleview Drive West from an establishment located on the southside of the street," police officials wrote in a release today.

"The driver of the motorcycle, a 34-year-old male from Barrie, was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased."

Police say they have concluded their investigation, and the driver of the passenger vehicle, a 69-year-old woman, was charged with Careless Driving Causing Death.
