The City of Barrie has a new fire chief. The city is pleased to announce that Kevin White will take on the role of fire chief.

"On behalf of the City of Barrie, I am pleased to welcome our new fire chief, Kevin White to the team,” said Mayor Alex Nuttall.” “With a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to public safety, I am confident that our Fire Services are in excellent hands as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. We look forward to Chief White’s leadership and the positive impact he will bring to our city in his new role."

Kevin began his firefighting career in Barrie in 1998, advancing to Captain in 2009 and then to Platoon Chief in 2020. Committed to ongoing professional growth, he is currently pursuing a degree in Justice and Public Safety at Guelph University. Kevin’s leadership has been widely recognized, earning him the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award for his advocacy on behalf of firefighters across Canada. A dedicated father of three daughters, Kevin has raised his family in Barrie and remains committed to creating a safe and thriving community for all residents.


"I am honoured to be selected as Barrie's next fire chief and I am dedicated to providing outstanding customer service while protecting our community,” said Fire Chief Kevin White. “I am proud to lead the men and women of our service with integrity while protecting our citizens and their property."
