Barrie firefighters say there were no injuries reported from a blaze at a home on Jones Drive this morning.
Eric MacFadden, deputy chief with Barrie Fire & Emergency Service, told Barrie 360 the call came in shortly after 10 a.m., and one person was home at the time.
"We had a working fire that took us a little time to locate and then extinguish," MacFadden explained. "The crews still remain on scene, kind of overhauling and extinguishing some hotspots of the fire."
The deputy chief says they had five trucks working the incident, and there is significant damage inside the home.
"Once things are safe enough, we'll be turning it over to our Barrie Fire investigators ... so they can do an investigation," said MacFadden.
He says the cause is unknown at this time.
