Barrie Fire's Hot Summer Night returns July 27

There will be hands-on activities, lifesaving fire tips, fire safety information, fire truck tours, and more

News release from the City of Barrie

Back from hiatus after the pandemic, Barrie Fire and Emergency Service (BFES) will host a free Hot Summer Night event at Sunnidale Park on Thursday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Geared toward families with children, all are invited to join the fun. There will be hands-on activities, lifesaving fire tips, fire safety information, fire truck tours, and a fire hose shower to help cool everyone down. Sunnidale Park is located at 265 Sunnidale Road in Barrie.

Additional event features include:

  • Mini combat challenge obstacle course
  • Story time with Sparky
  • Barrie Recreation’s summer fun trailer
  • Barrie Police Service education tent
  • Painting a school bus with fire safety messages
  • Nature play activities featuring a mud kitchen
  • Fire safety games and prizes

Domino’s Pizza will also be on site selling slices for $2 each, with proceeds going to the BFES charity fund, which gives back to local community and charitable groups.

For further event details, visit barrie.ca/HotSummerNight. If the event needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather, updates will be shared on Barrie Fire’s FacebookTwitter, and Instagram accounts.

The Hot Summer Night event is supported by the Barrie Public Library, 107.5 KOOL FM, and Domino’s Pizza Barrie.
