
Two Barrie men are among four charged after a recent foot pursuit by Barrie Police Service officers.
According to a release by the service today, the two men, along with two women, fled from a car near Bayfield Street and Dunlop Street East but were ultimately arrested.
Police say one of the females, a passenger in the vehicle, was released unconditionally, while the others were transported to police headquarters.
"Initially, the driver, a 30-year-old female, was arrested on a number of outstanding warrants held by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay and Huronia West Detachments," communication officials wrote, who said she was charged with operation while impaired, operation while prohibited, and failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
"Both males were arrested for being in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine and fentanyl and, based upon the quantity seized, were also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in both of these Schedule I drugs."

The accused female was taken into custody by OPP after being released on an undertaking relating to the charges laid by Barrie police. She has a court date at the end of this month.
A 37-year-old Barrie man was remanded into custody for a bail hearing, and the other male, a 29-year-old also from Barrie, was released from custody and is scheduled for court in May.
"Barrie Police credit these arrests and the use of Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology and recognize that this technology contributes significantly to public and community safety," officials noted.
