Garage blaze causes roughly $300,000 in damage, Barrie firefighters say

Officials say there were no injuries to the occupants
Barrie Garage Fire

Barrie firefighters tackled a garage fire Saturday night that they say caused around $300,000 in damage.

Derek Wilson, assistant deputy fire chief, told Barrie 360 they got a call around 10:30 p.m. about a blaze at a home on Hickling Trail.

"There was heavy fire damage in the garage ... we know that's where it started, " Wilson said. "But we weren't able to determine the exact thing that started [the fire]."

Wilson says three vehicles sustained damage and are included in the total.

He added that there were no injuries to the occupants - they were out when firefighters arrived.
