Barrie Minor Lacrosse is pleased to announce that Morgan Lowe is the 2024 recipient of the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s prestigious Chuck Rowan Award. Morgan was the goaltender for our OLA U17-A Girls Box Lacrosse Provincial Champions this season.
This honour is awarded annually to the U17 or U22 player demonstrating high proficiency in box lacrosse combined with outstanding achievement in citizenship, together with high standards in academics or their chosen profession.
Morgan is just the fifth female player to win the award in its 58-year history and the first Barrie player since Bill Hoare in 1980. Current BMLA executive, Andrew Dowdell, won the award while playing for South Simcoe in 1997. Morgan is a two-time Provincial “A” Champion with the Bombers and a two-time National Champion with Team Ontario.
