Barrie library event teaches parents how to style kids hair

Caregivers will learn easy ways to style childrens hair

Doing our kids hair can be a battle. Between tangles, tears, and new trends on social media, it can be tough for parents and caregivers to keep up.

In an effort to teach parents some easy tips on taming your children’s mane, the Barrie Public Library is hosting a Lovely Locks event.

Stylist and owner of K Studio Hair Salon, Kristen Butler, says they will keep it simple by showing proper brushing techniques and detangling problems. “Girls with long hair are the biggest struggle for parents as it becomes a fight every night or after a bath to brush their hair. We’re going to help by showing brushing ideas that won’t hurt anyone,” said Butler.

“We’ll demonstrate a ponytail, braid, and a bun, which are the most common everyday styles for their child and take under 5 minutes to do in the mornings!”

Lovely Locks class is being held at Barrie Public Library Downtown Branch on Saturday, February 8th between 2-2:45 pm. Classes are drop-in.
