Man charged in historic sexual assault case; Barrie police say more victims possible

Barrie police have charged man in connection with a historic sexual assault investigation and say there may be more additional victims.

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, police charged 38-year-old Brice Bunn, also known as Brice Jacobs, with sexual assault and sexual interference. Authorities say the charges relate to an incident that allegedly occurred in August 2014 at the former Spotlight Event Centre on Essa Road, where Bunn was the owner and manager at the time.

Police say the case was launched in March after a victim, who was 15 years old at the time of the alleged incident, came forward. Police allege Bunn is also connected to two other similar incidents at local establishments where he was employed as a manager.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are encouraging anyone with information to contact police. They also note there is no statute of limitations for sexual offences.
