A 37-year-old local man has been charged with child pornography offences following an investigation by Barrie police.
The suspect was taken into custody on Friday, Dec. 1 following a two-month investigation.
"The accused used a peer-to-peer network to allow like-minded users to connect via the internet and download/upload child pornography files that were in his possession," according to a police news release.
The Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at the home of the suspect and seized several computer devices allegedly containing child pornography.
The suspect has been charged with:
- accessing child pornography
- possession of child pornography
- making child pornography
The man was held for a bail hearing.
