A vehicle rollover into the ditch on Saturday afternoon led Orillia OPP to lay impaired charges against a Barrie man.
First responders arrived at the single-vehicle collision on County Road 16 in Severn around 12:40 p.m.
"The vehicle involved was described to be on its side with a single occupant," OPP said. "As a result of the investigation, police arrested the driver as it was determined that he was impaired. While under arrest he was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries."
The 28-year-old was charged with:
- Operation while impaired-alcohol contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Refuse to comply with demand contrary to section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
He is scheduled to appear in Orillia court in January 2024.
His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
