Officers with the Barrie Police Service responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Bayfield Street this afternoon.

Jennett Mays, a communication official with the Barrie police, told Barrie 360 they were called at noon about the collision.

"One person was taken to a local hospital," she wrote in an email. "No word on possible charges yet."

Mays did not have information on the severity of injuries.

Southbound Bayfield was closed from Ferris Lane to Coulter Street but reopened around 2:45 pm.
